Spreading quilty joy one stitch at a time!

Maple Leaf

July 24, 2015 by Shannon Leave a Comment

Ever since I was a child I have always had a love of trees.  And growing up in Canada I have a special love for maple trees.

Not only are they gorgeous, full and lush, they go through a spectacular array of colour changes in autumn.  Taking a drive up North in early fall showcases one of the most stunning spectrum of green, yellow, red, orange and brown hued leaves.  Plus you can tap the tree and make maple syrup.  What more can you ask for?!

So when I found a little maple tree growing amongst my oregano this year, I thought it might be fun to transplant it and try growing my very own maple tree!  I’m not sure how this experiment will go, but so far she has taken to her new pot quite nicely and has already grown several inches.  Once she is strong enough, I plan on planting her up North so she can be amongst her friends 😉

This is a total first for me, so if anyone has any tips and tricks on successfully growing a maple tree I would love to hear them!

Here’s to celebrating to beauty of Mother Nature.
