❄️ About My Quilt: Spinning Snowflakes
Spinning Snowflakes is my contribution to this year’s calendar, and it’s one that’s close to my heart. ❄️ I was inspired by the quiet magic of winter mornings — the way snowflakes dance in the air, each one unique but perfectly balanced.
This design combines traditional piecing with a dynamic, modern layout that creates the illusion of motion. Whether made in icy blues or cozy holiday reds, it’s a quilt that brings warmth and wonder to any space.
✨ Skill Level: Intermediate
📏 Finished Size: 6 sizes, including 2 Table Runner options, Baby, Lap, Double, and Queen.
🎨 Suggested Fabrics: For added coziness, take a cue from my fabric pull and feature Artisan Cottons and Essex Linen.
I can’t wait to see how you bring it to life!

I like all the seasons… I have quilts for all of them to display in my house. I made a set of seasonal wall hangings for my MIL too.
Winter means quilts to me! Also, I tend to stay inside more…
Honestly colour inspires me the most. I love colour, and playing with colours in fabric brings such joy.
Seems like I get to working hard the end of summer. Trying to get projects done for Christmas.
There something for me in every season, but Winter is when I am most connected to the stars and the night. Dark blues and star blocks just naturally call to me.
I love Spring the most.
I am drawn to cool colours so I have say winter.

Winter is my most creative time, more time spent inside.
I love all the seasons and create throughout the year! Summer is best in the evenings because our days are so long and I can hand quilt without a lamp on until 10:30 at night!
I love the winter holidays and my grandkids inspire me. They have an innocent excitement for all things
I enjoy making quilts and quilted projects for every season, but especially for the Christmas Holidays as gifts ! 💚❤️💚
I love fall the most but fall is usually so busy, it’s hard to find time to sew. Actually I love any season when I get time to sew with friends and it seems winter offers the most of that.
I love the winter for quilting but the colours of the Canadian landscape inspire me each season. Currently the shades of red and yellow are calling me.
My favorite season is fall, especially as it heads toward Halloween!
Fall/Autumn. When the days get shorter and colder I just get inspired to make warm things.
Autumn inspires me the most – time to get cozy and quilt.
Fall and winter are my favourites. But then I can easily be distracted by the beautiful greens of spring and of course tulips. And then there is summer with beautiful flowers, and the red and white maple leaf. I guess I can find inspiration in all seasons.
I am a fall girl! bring on those rich fall colors
Autumn inspires me most! Love sipping some hot tea and quilting.
Fall is the season that inspires my quilting the most. The richness of the colors. The high contrast.
Definitely fall! I love Halloween and can not get enough of the spooky designs and color palettes.
All seasons have something magic and I love all of them. But those I like most are spring and fall, because then colors are at their best.
I love summer best of all but it is not a quilting season. As summer wanes and the days cool, then I start to plan all the quilts I want to make; usually that number far exceeds the time!
I love Fall/Automn. It’s coloring and smiling
I love winter for quilting as the dark outside inspires me to bring colour and light into my sewing space.
My favorite time of the year is spring when everything pops up & out! All God’s creatures seem to burst out in full glory. Also I love cats & think your kitty Pip is amazingly beautiful. Meow!
My favorite time of the year is spring when everything pops up & out! All God’s creatures seem to burst out in full glory. Also I love cats & think your kitty Pip is amazingly beautiful. Meow!
Spring and Fall are the seasons when I quilt the most. Spring because it represents renewal and new beginnings. Fall because it represents the gathering of friends and family to celebrate all we are thankful for.
Spring is my favorite time to start new quilty projects. The rest of the year is left to finish up all those Spring starts! Thank you for all the inspiration and encouragement you provide thru your online presence ❤️
You can’t beat autumn for the colors, the chill in the air, the sporting events, and excitement of the upcoming holidays. I love everything about this season.
Fall and spring are my favorite seasons. The golds, browns, and reds of fall are so beautiful together. After a long dark winter the brighter colors of spring makes me happy.
Summer inspires me the most as I love bold bright colors!
I’m a winter gal too! For me it’s all about the contrast between light & dark. I love bold, geometric designs. Plus, it’s so much nicer to sew when it’s cold outside. Who wants to quilt wrangle in a hot summer??
Autumn is my favorite! This is when I take my Little Forest quilt out for display and it inspires me to create and play with fabric
Although fall inspires me, the long winter is when I’m most productive!
That’s a tough question, all seasons have their Quilty attributes. I think I have to chose Spring for inspiration, due to buds, blooms, sprigs. Everything nature popping!
In summer I am busy outside, gardening and hiking. When fall comes around I am happy to burrow back into my quilt studio and love to be quilting again!
I think Fall is my favorite season. The days are still warm, but the nights are cool where we live. Ideal in my opinion.
Love all the variety of styles and techniques
Fall is my favorite season, the colors really inspire me!
I am inspired to quilt year round, but I really love making fall quilts. I love Halloween, and I love sewing with fall colors.
delightful pattern
Would love to win the calendar
Ehanks
I do most of my sewing in the winter because my garden is sleeping, but I cannot say that it’s the season that inspires me – the fabrics tell me what they want to become, usually -and that could be anything.
Fall colors are my favorites, so I would have to say autumn is my inspirational season.
Honestly I’m sewing all the time but when it’s cold outside I love it the best!!
Oh! Isn’t every season perfect for quilting??! I love changing up colour choices for quilts according to the season! I am really enjoying working with the deep, rich autumn and jewel tones right now!
Favourite season for quilting is summer, as all the other activities that get in the way of sewing time are paused. I am in the southern hemisphere where we have a summer Christmas.
Summer inspires me most. All of that beautiful, warm summer light. Fabrics look yummy and I love to go thru my stash (both fabric and patterns) to start making plans.
Summer doesn’t last long enough for me! It inspires me, energizes me and allows me to dye fabrics outdoors for my next projects.
