Today’s the day!! I’m super excited to be heading out to the opening of the Window on the Modern Quilt exhibit being held at the Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay!
I cannot wait to see the modern mini-quilts my fellow Montreal Modern Quilt Guild members have designed. The focus was to honour traditional quilting techniques all while providing a modern take on the final design.
The challenges fell into several categories, including: negative space, minimalist design, grids, alternative improvised piecing and asymmetry.
The exhibit will be running from January 31, 2016 through February 28, 2016. If you are in the Montreal area, I encourage you to stop by, be inspired and support our local artists!!
