What are your quilty plans for 2019?
Have a bunch of WIP (works in progress) you want to clear
off your list? If you’re a quilter, then I KNOW you have a WIP list 😉
I think it’s in our quilty DNA to have such a list!

Perhaps you have some new quilt projects you’ve been meaning
to tackle but keep getting distracted (see point above!)?

Or, maybe you’re a hard core sew-a-long participant or bee
block & swap lover and have some key dates you need to be on top of?

Whether you’re all of the above or just fall into one
category, The 2019 Quilter’s Planner is right for you!
Let me explain!
I’ve done a review every year since I’ve been a Quilter’s
Planner owner (here’s 2018 and 2017, I tried getting the 2016 but they sold out FAST)
and so I couldn’t possibly stop the tradition now, right?!

and so I couldn’t possibly stop the tradition now, right?!
Now, I’ll be honest, I initially found it pricey. Especially
being located in Canada and dealing with the exchange rate and shipping, but I
took the plunge and here’s what I discovered.

I adore my planner and use it Every. Single. Day. Yes, even
on the weekends!
on the weekends!
I love my digital calendar and live as paper free as
possible (yay for email delivery services for bills and such), but there’s
something about being able to write down my daily to-do list and physically
check it off that not only is incredibly satisfying, but also super practical.

My planner is always open on my desk to the current week. It helps
keep me organized and on top of my busy days. Between pattern designing,
consulting, writing for magazines, blogging, photo editing and…the list goes
on, I’m busy! And I love being able to finish a task, look at my planner, check
it off and see what the next one is.

on, I’m busy! And I love being able to finish a task, look at my planner, check
it off and see what the next one is.
Even when I’m working on something, I’ll often think of
another task or idea that I want to remember. Does that ever happen to you?
You’re all focused and then BAM an idea or thought pops up and you know if you
don’t write it down you’ll forget. To keep the idea from distracting me
throughout my current task, I’ll quickly jot it down in my planner and then
return to my task at hand with a clear mind.

So, she essentially keeps me on point!
KEY PLANNER FEATURES
The planner is broken down into tabbed sections with the
first 12 tabs representing each month. The start of each of those sections has
a monthly overview with plenty of room to jot down key activities. I typically
use this to plan my blog posts, pattern release dates and project deadlines in
that given month.

I also love that you have a section to highlight your
monthly goals, personal projects and quilting projects. These have been super
helpful in keeping me on track and not overcommitting myself.

From there you have the weekly spreads and this is where I
live. Every Sunday I take a moment to check in, see what I already have planned
and transfer over any items that I couldn’t get to from the previous week.

The projects tab has a handy two-page table where you can
keep track of all your quilt projects. This is super handy so you don’t forget
some of your WIP (I know I’ve done that before). You can mark exactly what
stage you’re at for each of them so you can see your progress, which is also
really motivating. There’s also several pages where you can map out project
ideas and brainstorm new designs.

The reference section is something I turn to on a regular
basis. The fabric breakdown, cutting estimator and common cuts of fabric are
super handy. This year, they’ve even included a handy color theory section by
Rebecca Bryan of Bryan House Quilts.

And one of my all time fave feature are the stickers! Yup,
there are 4 pages of colorful stickers, 2 of which are designed by Camille Roskelley that I
just can’t wait to use (seriously trying not to dip into them until the new
year!).

QUILT PATTERNS!!
Now if that wasn’t enough, you also have a ton of patterns
to keep you inspired and busy with quilty projects throughout the year.
Most of the quilt patterns are featured in a glossy magazine
that comes with the purchase of The Quilter’s Planner.
Yes! You not only get a full planner, but a pretty magazine with 14 quilt
projects and patterns by featured designers in the industry!

First up is the 2019 Quilter’s Planner Sampler Quilt

month’s sampler quilt block so you can stay on top of it and participate in the
sew-a-long.
