I’m getting back into the swing of things
after taking some much needed time off.
I so appreciate being away and disconnecting, as it gives me a chance to
change up my routine and open my mind to different ideas. Every summer we head out of the city to spend
my love’s birthday up at the cottage.
Being surrounded by nature and overlooking the lake is such a calming
and restorative feeling. Plus we takes
lots of drives around winding roads in the mountain while listening to music
and chatting. It is total bliss.
Since I am a creature of habit, I still
sneak in my morning walks. They are
after all what keeps me sane 😉 Here are
some photos I took during my morning walks.

When we got back to the city, we decided to
finally cash in the gift certificates for Sky Venture that I had gifted at our
anniversary last August. So before they
expired, we headed out to Laval for our first flying experience. I wasn’t allowed to bring my phone in, so I
unfortunately do not have any pictures of the event.
What I can say is that I was a total
natural! Given that I wasn’t all that
keen on the activity (I was really there to support my better half) I was
surprised at how quickly I caught on. So
much so, that the instructor actually left the wind tunnel at one point to leave
me on my own! I still don’t have any
interest in jumping out of a plane (fear of heights and flying probably has
something to do with that!), but I am eager to head back to learn how to better
control my movements in the air flow.

The rest of the time was spent trying out
some new restaurants, cooking up a storm, tending to my garden and catching up
on some reading. It was a lovely break
from my usual routine.

The time away has given me a chance to
recharge my battery and come back with a fresh perspective and new ideas. I can’t wait to get cracking on them!!

P.S. I was hoping to have this post up last week, but for those that follow me on Instagram know I was rendered incommunicado due to a nasty computer virus 🙁 Thankfully my significant other is a total computer whiz and got me back and up and running without any data loss – woot woot!!
