I’m so excited to share that you can now find the Little Forest BOM Quilt over on PreQuilt!
So many of you reached out to ask if the Little Forest Quilt had a digital colouring page and, with the help of the team behind PreQuilt, we’ve made that happen for you 😊
If you’re new to this app, then read on for all the details on how to incorporate digital colouring pages in your quilt fabric planning process!
The Little Forest BOM Quilt Pattern is available for instant download!
What is PreQuilt
PreQuilt is an online application that allows you to digitally recolour quilts with the touch of a button!
No need to pull out your crayons, colouring pencils and pens (unless of course, you find that process soothing!) to visualize your quilt mock-ups.
Now, you can easily select solids or upload your own prints to plan your fabric pull before committing your fibre dollars. Cool, right?!
How does it work?
All you need to do is head over to the Little Forest BOM colouring page over on PreQuilt.
From there, you can either select the option to:
- Randomize colours
- Randomize using your fabric pull based on preloaded solids from leading fabric manufacturers
- Create your own fabric pull by uploading your prints.
The great news is that you can also easily reset the design if you’re not loving the direction you’re headed in.
Cue the fabric play time!
How to randomize your colours
The process to recolour your quilts is pretty straightforward, but I thought I’d share some quick screenshots to help situate you.
Step 1 – Find my profile
The first step is to find my profile on PreQuilt. Here’s a handy link!
Step 2 – Select Little Forest BOM Colouring Page
Under my profile, you’ll notice the Little Forest BOM Colour Page. Click that to start recolouring!
You can also click this link to head straight there and bypass searching for my profile entirely.
Step 3 – Randomize Colours
On the Little Forest BOM colouring page, select Randozime Colours in the top left corner of the screen to open the dropdown menu.
Step 4 – Choose to Suffle or Drag & Swap
The Randomize Colours dropdown menu gives you the option to Shuffle Colours or to Drag and Swap. Play around with these options to create the perfect colour lineup!
Shown below is the Little Forest BOM Quilt recoloured using the Shuffle Colours option. Keep clicking to cycle through new colour ideas.
How to select your solids of choice
Step 5 – Select Solids of Choice
The original Little Forest BOM Quilt features Ruby and Bee Solids, however, PreQuilt allows you to select your solids of choice from leading fabric manufacturers.
Simply select Randomize Using Your Fabric Pull from the top left menu and it will open a new window displaying the fabric collections in their database.
From this page, you also have the option to create your own fabric pull!
What freedom!
How much does it cost?
You can use PreQuilt for free; however, a free account doesn’t give you the option to save your design.
If you’d like to save your ideas so that you can ponder your options, you can create an a:
- Basic account – which allows you to create up to 50 quilts per year, upload your own photos of your fabric prints, import up to 250 fabrics, play with the ombré maker, and so much more. The basic account is currently $7.50 USD/month or $50 USD/year.
- Market account – which has all the features of the Basic account, plus unlimited quilt creations, unlimited fabric, and, if you’re a quilt pattern designer, you have the option to sell your quilt patterns from your colouring pages. The market account is currently $10 USD/month or $100 USD/year.
Laura and Gar, the wife and husband duo behind PreQuilt, have created a genius product that doesn’t require you to install or purchase additional software to make it possible for you to digitally play with the Little Forest BOM colouring page.
Plus, there are tons of other colouring pages on their site from fellow quilt pattern designers to keep you entertained for hours 😉
The big challenge will be narrowing down your selection to just one fabric pull!
Happy colouring!
